About me.

My name is Smilla, and I’m 24 years old. I just moved back to Østerbro, Copenhagen, after living in Paris for half a year, which was an absolute dream.

 

I am studying a bachelor's degree in Design & Business, with a specialisation in Creative Branding at KEA. This builds on my previous education as Design Technologist, specialising in Marketing & Communication Design, also from KEA. Both programs have given me broad knowledge and skills, especially in campaign planning, concept development and branding. 

 

At KEA, we have a very practical and hands-on approach to learning, which suits me perfectly, as i love seeing my ideas come to life. We get the chance to work closely with a wide range of companies, spanning from startups to large corporations. Furthermore, KEA also hosts guest speakers from the industry, giving us valuable insights and real-life perspectives within our field.

I’m very passionate about fashion and design​, and my ambition is to work within the fields of PR, branding, social media or styling, as these areas really resonate with my interests and skills. I love being creative, taking pictures, creating mood boards and finding inspiration both on the streets and online.

I am a very social person, and being around people gives me energy and motivation. I highly value social soundings, and I always bring an ambitious attitude, along with my easy smile and a positive mood. Through my studies, my work at Group88 and my semester in Paris, I’ve gained a broad knowledge and passion within my field. At the same time, I have strengthened my ability to maintain organised in busy and hectic situations, and working with a diverse range of people - always with a smile.

Looking to the future, I’m very excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. Whether it’s working with PR, branding, social media or styling, I am ready to take on new challenges and contribute to innovative projects in my field.

I worked with several disciplines within PR and marketing:

Managing social media, both content creation and overall visual expression, copywriting, reporting and enhancing profile reach. Furthermore, I worked with the press, including major fashion magazines and selected influencers on topics such as look requests, publicity, and exposure of new collections.

My exchange semester in Paris, was driven by a desire to deepen my understanding of marketing and branding from an international perspective. I engaged in a wide range of courses such as International Shopper Marketing, Public Relations, and Global Branding. Taught by professors from multiple countries, these courses provided me with new insights and a holistic understanding of communication and branding. Furthermore, Paris, as a global fashion hub, inspired me and fuelled my ambition to be a part of the fashion industry.

My bachelors degree in Creative branding is focused on merging strategy and creative design. It emphasises practical learning through case collaborations, workshops, lab work and external quest lectures. Equipped with relevant methods, theories and tools, this study aligns and gives knowledge within industry standards and practices. Through development of visual and verbal brand identities, large scale market research and brand activation across various channels, this study has provided me with a strong toolbox for my future career.

My AP in Marketing & Communication Design at kea, has given me knowledge within consumer behaviour, concept development, brand management and communication strategy. With teachers from the industry, I acquired practical skills within visual concepts, costumer journey mapping, cross-media strategies and trend forecasting, always with a strong emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility. The program furthermore gave courses in Adobe Design programs such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. This study has provided me with the skillset to pursuit roles in branding, PR, graphic design and content marketing.
